About the S.B.S Flat Top Roofing System
A Torch Down Modified Bitumen roof; or as it is commonly known a 2-ply SBS roof system (consisting of a T.P. 180 base sheet and T.P. 250 cap sheet), is a very popular roofing system in the market today. Consisting of polyester or fiberglass reinforcing mat sandwiched between two layers of rubberized asphalt, the two-ply roof system is quite durable. There are several ways of connecting pieces of this material. In a heat application process the seams are heated (torched) to melt the asphalt together and create a seal.
